I searched my mental map of the bedroom. I'm not aware of ANY spiderwebs in my bedroom. "I have tons of spiderwebs in my bedroom?"
"Yes! I thought it was just a string, and I blew on it, and it was a spiderweb! And, the spider has three fangs!" She continued to cry.
"Three fangs?"
"Yes!"
After a few minutes, she was more calm, and I asked "Where are all the spiderwebs?"
"...Well...I really only saw one spiderweb...But, the spider has three fangs!"
What was one spiderweb, with a spider in it, had turned into TONS of spiderwebs in her mind. She was fearful to return to the room... This was real to her in the moment.
Does this ever happen to you? This is the way of the human mind, and it can reek havoc in our lives if we let it.

We see one thing that surprises us, even scares us, and we blow it into bigger proportions. We magnify it one hundred times, sometimes more. It becomes big and scary and insurmountable. It seems impossible to handle.

Wise stewardship is standing back and taking control of our thoughts. It is pulling them out of the clouds and down to reality. It is calming ourselves, stopping the fretting, and believing that whatever comes our way is perfect for us to learn from. We were made to take on every challenge we face and overcome it! If you face it, it is in you to conquer it...either by yourself or with the help of those around you.
Stay tuned for lesson two, coming soon...
