I was moved to tears yesterday morning as I watched young elementary school students hugging teddy bears...hundreds of teddy bears that will go to homeless children.
These students each had worked to earn the money to buy a bear for a homeless child. Some had set up bake sales, some had done yard work, some had worked doing household chores to earn the money.
All through the month of December the bears are gathered and displayed in the lobby of the school. Then, the special day comes for the hugging line send-off for each bear. The students form lines through the halls of the school and pass the bears, each child hugging as they go, to send off the bears with love.
I was so touched by the TANGIBLE love that I felt in those hallways. I believe the homeless children who receive those bears will feel that love.
Imagine, if we took the time to wrap everything we do, everything we give in a hug.
